Corruption probe in Tenterfield council

Tenterfield Shire Council is one of 88 councils in NSW being investigated by the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC).
ICAC is conducting an investigation into allegations that employees of 110 state and local council authorities, including Tenterfield Shire Council, accepted benefits including gift cards and other items from companies in return for placing orders and continuing business relationships with these companies.
Tenterfield Shire Council general manager Jim Gossage said that, although Tenterfield was on the list, the ICAC was concentrating their investigations on 15 other councils.
“There will be no investigation here, that’s what we’ve been told,” Mr Gossage said.
“I’m not going to comment on it further,” he told the Southern Free Times.
Other councils on the list include Moree Plains Shire, Glen Innes Severn, Tamworth Regional, Gunnedah Shire, Gwydir (Bingara) Shire, Parkes Shire and Dubbo City.
