General manager resigns

Tenterfield Shire Council now has three senior vacancies after general manager Jim Gossage resigned last Thursday.
Although Mr Gossage doesn’t officially finish until Friday, February 10, he is now on leave until that date.
However, Glenn Inglis will be acting general manager until the council can find a replacement.
Mr Inglis, who has many years experience as a general manager of a local government body including Tamworth City Council, said it could take about 12 weeks before a replacement general manager could start at Tenterfield.
“This is the worst case scenario,” he said.
Mayor Toby Smith said the council was fortunate to be able to secure an acting general manager in such a short time period.
“We’re very lucky to have someone of his (Mr Inglis) calibre here,” Cr Smith said.
The council also has vacancies for an engineering services director and a corporate services director.
