Tenterfield Shire Mayor Toby Smith will not be seeking re-election for the council in the forthcoming elections.
“My original intention was that, if re-elected, I would serve three terms in the council,” Cr Smith said.
“After 13 years on the council and seven years as Mayor, I feel my job is done,” he said.
“There have been many great achievements for the Tenterfield Shire and I am proud to be a part of that.
“I wish to thank the Councillors who have supported me, members of staff and those in the community that have given their support, especially during the past seven years.
“It has been a privilege to represent B Ward and an honour to be Mayor of the Tenterfield Shire Council,” Cr Smith said.
