Gail Lynch.
Police have released further information to the public in relation to the disappearance of Warwick woman Gail Lynch in the hope that residents may be able to assist them in their investigation.
Police hold serious concerns for Ms Lynch’s welfare and are appealing to the public to come forward with any information they have.
She was last seen on Tuesday, July 3, at a residence on Guy Street in Warwick. Ms Lynch spoke to a family member on the evening of July 3, but has not made contact or been seen since.
Speaking at a press conference in Warwick on Tuesday afternoon, Detective Inspector Darrin Shadlow said a search of Ms Lynch’s unit with her family had revealed that a carpet rug may be missing.
It is described as being about 3m x 2m and is red in colour, with a gold patterned border. Police are asking members of the public who may have seen a rug matching this description in the Warwick or Toowoomba areas to contact their local police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
Police also wish to speak with anyone who was in the Guy Street, Warwick area between 6pm, Tuesday, July 3, and 6am on Wednesday, July 4.
“Also, we’re still putting the call out for anyone who may have seen that 2004 model V8 blue Ford Falcon sedan in the Warwick area between those times and also through to Toowoomba for that day on the Wednesday, which was the day of the last State of Origin, so that may jog some people’s memory in relation to that; just if they did see that blue vehicle around the Toowoomba area or the Warwick area if they could contact Crime Stoppers or the Warwick police,” Detective Inspector Shadlow said.
He said the search of the Warwick township, including the boundaries of the Condamine River, had concluded at this stage.
“We are reassessing our search areas and, if we deem a further search is necessary, then it will be conducted,” Detective Inspector Shadlow said.
“We’ve conducted a search, basically of a 15km radius from Ms Lynch’s residence.

“We’ve utilised a number of SES, water police and our Stock and Rural Crime Squad on horseback and also on motorbikes, searching every roadway, every culvert, every drain and the waterways in an effort to locate her.
“Yesterday we had the rescue helicopter in the air for a couple of hours, doing some searches for us, obviously they can cover more area in a shorter time, however, unfortunately they didn’t bear any fruit from that either,” he said on Tuesday.
“There are a number of persons of interest that we are speaking with. We have spoken with a large number of people in the Toowoomba and Warwick areas, and we will continue to do that.”
Detective Inspector Shadlow said detectives from the Homicide Investigation Unit from Brisbane were continuing to assist the Warwick police with their investigation.
