Truck rollover

A prime mover and trailer that toppled off the Cunningham Highway on Sunday remained stranded until Monday, due to heavy downpours.

The truck rollover (pictured) forced the closure of one lane of the Cunningham Highway from Brisbane to Warwick on Sunday, from about 2pm to 3.30pm.

Sergeant Jose Alonso, from Ipswich police, said the truck was driven by a Logan Village man and went off the road near the Cunningham’s Gap helipad.

“The truck was off the road but a Warwick-bound lane was closed as police directed traffic,” he said.

The driver was not injured in the rollover.

Meanwhile, Reconstruct South Coast said roadworks on the Cunningham Highway between Carter Road, Aratula, and the helipad near Clumber was scheduled to start this week.

Motorists are reminded that roadworks will operate between 6am and 6pm, Monday to Saturday.

Single lane closures and reduced speed limits will be in place during roadworks.
