Health jobs redundant

By JONATHON HOWARD

DOCTORS at both Warwick and Stanthorpe hospitals were not among four staff members to receive redundancy payouts last week, according to the Darling Downs and Hospital Health Service.
The announcement came as a total of 14 Warwick Hospital staff members applied for redundancy packages – only those four were approved.
There were no requests for redundancies from staff at Stanthorpe Hospital and no staff changes were made at Stanthorpe.
“The Darling Downs Hospital and Health Service reviewed all requests and four staff members at Warwick Hospital are currently in correspondence with management to progress with redundancy packages,” a spokesperson for the Darling Downs and Hospital Health Service said.
“The other staff members were declined as their positions were needed or their duties could not be deployed to other staff members within the hospital.”
The health board has also moved to assure residents that there has been no reduction or change to services at Warwick or Stanthorpe hospitals – with no expectation of change.
A spokesperson for the health board said the redundancies did not include doctors at Warwick Hospital.
