Arts program proves extra popular

THE Borderline Arts Group will launch its inaugural Tenterfield Traveller Arts Program next weekend (June 15) and places are filling fast for the week-long creative journey.
Both locals and visitors will be taking part in the residency with artist educator Christine Porter, learning new techniques, honing skills and business development.
Organisers said participants were from Brisbane, the North Coast, Inverell and Tamworth for the first-time opportunity.
The first of two workshops at Forest to Furniture Gallery will be followed by three days of creative activities based from Tenterfield Railway Museum precinct. Borderline President Shirley Caldwell said nearly all sessions were booked out.
“Apart from a few spots in the Mt Mckenzie field trip,” she said.
“Yet interested parties still have a chance to cosy up in the first-class carriage for a set of lunchtime Arts Business Lectures next week.
“There could be room for late bookings for the one-hour motivational lectures.”
Ms Porter’s business lunch topics cover professional development including copyright, marketing and sales integrity.
The price is $12 to $15. Attendees were asked to bring their own lunch or get a soup at the station.
The Travellers Artist Residency Program is sponsored by The Tenterfield Golf Club and Tenterfield Tourism.
Borderline Regional Arts hope to repeat the program next year; in the meantime contact Sue Jurd to register interest on (07) 4684 3308.
