Angus sale a record breaker

A RECORD 100 bulls will be up for sale at this year’s Sunstate Angus Sale in Warwick on Friday, July 26.
Buyers are expected to converge on the Warwick Saleyards from across the state to witness the largest number of young sires offered in the history of the annual sale.
Sunstate sale secretary Marion Frame said the high numbers reflected the ever-increasing popularity of the Angus breed and meant this year’s draft would offer more choice than ever before to buyers.
“We normally have buyers from Claremont, Blackall, Roma and even Gympie as well as locals and a few buyers from NSW,” she said.
“There will be 18 individual vendors who between them have a collective knowledge of more than 250 years of breeding Angus cattle.
“A sale of this scale, representing some of the state’s top Angus studs, means there will be bulls of the type and calibre to suit a wider than ever range of commercial and stud producers.”
Mrs Frame said the oldest bull would be three years old and all bulls had had their injections and were ready to work.
The Sunstate sale will be held at Warwick Saleyards from 1pm on 26 July with bulls available for inspection from 9.30am.
Catalogues are out now and available at George and Fuhrmann Real Estate, Albion St, or phone Marion on 0427 631 432.
