Caught in net

INCREASED traffic enforcement by Stanthorpe Police over the past week has netted three drink drivers, a quantity of drugs and two people driving while disqualified.
A 34-year-old woman of Severnlea was intercepted driving on New England Highway Severnlea at 2.25am last Thursday.
She was later charged after recording .057 per cent.
At 9.20pm, Saturday evening, a 34-year-old woman was intercepted on Cannon Creek Road and later blew .099 per cent.
At 9pm Sunday evening a 38-year-old man was intercepted driving a vehicle at Thulimbah and later recorded .134 per cent.
All three drivers will face Stanthorpe Magistrates’ Court in September.

Drugs seized
AT 1.10am on Thursday morning a Ford Sedan was intercepted on New England Highway, Severnlea and a 26-year-old Woodridge man detained for the purpose of search under the Drugs Misuse Act.
A search of the vehicle uncovered a number of clip-seal bags alleged to contain methyl-amphetamine and a brass pipe used in the smoking of a dangerous drug.
The man was charged with possessing dangerous drugs, possessing a pipe used for the smoking of a dangerous drug and driving unaccompanied on a learner’s permit.

Disco returns
A REMINDER the Stanthorpe Blue Light Disco will be on again at Stanthorpe Civic Centre this Friday, 30 August.
The Prep to grade 4 session will commence at 5.30pm to 6.30pm, years 5 to 7 from 6.45pm to 8.15pm and years 8 to 12 from 8.30pm to 10.30pm.
