Flamin’ good time at Backburners Ball

HUNDREDS of residents attended the 2013 Dalveen Rural Fire Brigade Backburners Ball on Saturday, 27 April.
Entertained was provided into the early hours of Sunday morning by the Mic Travers Band from Brisbane.
The scene was set around the hall with a number of fire pits to ensure people kept warm, while others danced up a storm inside the hall.
Brigade members catered for the crowd and food was provided up until 8.30pm when cooks downed tools and joined in the fun.
Keen revellers braved the icy chill and camped on the oval, waking to the smell of the recovery breakfast.
Many favourable comments have been received, and the Dalveen Fire Brigade has committed to making the event an annual occasion.
Some partygoers walked away with a number of lucky door prizes and raffle prizes donated by local businesses.

They would also like to thank those brigade and community members who assisted on the night and the following morning, as well as the people who attended for showing their support and contributing to its overall success.
