On Saturday, July 9, starting with a Church Service at 11am, the congregation of St Augustine’s Anglican Church, Leyburn, is holding a Thanksgiving Celebration to mark the 150th anniversary of the formation of the Leyburn Anglican Parish in 1861. At that time, the Parish extended from Cambooya to Goondiwindi, including the stations of Yandilla, Felton, Eton Vale, Westbrook, Gowrie, Pilton, Western Creek, Clifton, Tummaville, Ellangowan and Canal Creek; a huge area of almost 7770 square kilometres.
The Right Reverend Rob Nolan, Anglican Bishop of the Western Region of the Diocese of Brisbane, is our special guest for the occasion. We would ask anyone who wishes to attend to please bring a basket to share afterwards in the QCWA Hall.
Jennifer Rauchle,
Leyburn
