Not enough research for mining to go ahead

I agree with Sarah Moles (Southern Free Times, July 21) regarding mining in the Warwick area, as also in the Felton area.
The government has gone mad with the royalties they plan to receive from mining and are riding roughshod over the communities that are going to be affected.
Not enough is known about the consequences of CSG and CTL conversions. If the underground water is contaminated, that will be the end of it. And the land that is disturbed is useless for a long time, to say nothing of the lives of people in the way of the miners.
