Proposed Pond on the 12th Fairway

I oppose the suggestion to have a pond across the lower section on the 12th Fairway at the Tenterfield golf course.
To support my objection, the following factors should be taken into consideration.
This hole is already one of the hardest on the golf course. The majority of the members need to play two woods or a wood and a long iron to reach the green. Most players land the ball before the green and then run up to the pin.
There are only two lady golfers that can land on the green in two shots. They are Val Davidson and Sophie Cusack. The remaining lady golfers play their second or third shot short of the green and then run up to the pin.
The majority of keen golfers are more interested in their score and not in the difficulty of the hole. The goal of the average golfer is to try and break 100, 90 or 80. This proposed pond location will penalise 95 per cent of our golfing players.
The only golf players able to play this hole with success will be the long hitters and talented young players. On analysis, our golf club has a majority of older golfers that are not long hitters.
Golf is meant to be enjoyed!
The purpose of our golf course is to provide a good course for the average golfer. We should not present a golf course that addresses professional and low handicap golfers only.
This proposed pond location should have been presented to all the local playing members through a survey to gauge their responses. A decision that would reflect the members’ interests could then be made by the appropriate ‘committee’.
