Songs for parting

They sat around the planning table in contemplation of surprising Allora with a parting gift, the Southern Downs Regional Council as always true to form. What is this? A chicken hatchery on the flood plain to hatch one million chicks a week? What a great place to produce future advertisements for chicken meals on television. So, in keeping with the musical beat of joy this stunning idea gave the planners Ferguson and Harris, I called upon the wizard of musical expression, John Denver to lend me a tune or two, along with Johnny Cash.
Mr Ferguson, Leaving on a jet plane.
Mr Harris, North to Alaska.
Councillor Bellingham, Fly Away,
Councillor Blundell, Take me home Country Road.
Councillor Ingram, Let it be,
Councillor Pennisi, Back home Again,
Councillor Bartley, Thank God I’M a country Boy,
Councillor Mc Murtrie, Some days are diamonds, some are stone.
Councillor Gow, Never a Doubt,
Councillor Meiklejohn, Sunday Morning Coming down. (Cash)
Councillor McNally, A country Girl in Paris.
Rate payers of the Southern Downs Regional Council, Rocky Mountain High, after the Election!

Melba Morris,
Allora
