Thanks from Deborah

We would like to applaud the generosity of the Warwick community for their great support of the garage sale and raffle to obtain funds for Deborah’s wheelchair.
We so much want to thank the Free Times for their publishing Deborah’s story and the continuing support of all our friends. It overwhelmed us, the support from people who just came to make a donation, buy tickets and wish us well in our endeavours.
Fiona, Mary’s daughter, is now in China at the orphanage for a week to tell of the good news of the funds for the special wheelchair from Sweden which will allow Deborah to stand and wheel, as well as sit and get around.
The Warwick community through their donations of goods, money and support on the day raised $4500 toward the $8000 chair. Fiona’s church in Brisbane will help raise more funds and Mary and Valerie and their families will continue to help.
Each and every dollar goes straight to the wheelchair and to support Fiona to go and teach the staff, funded by Hidden Treasures, how to look after the 40 children who have disabilities. We thank also Blue Care, who donated a child’s wheelchair which we can used for another little treasure with Cerebral Palsy
The Christian couple, Deena and Mike who started the orphanage and run it, will continue their great work. Work made possible by the generosity of the Warwick community and volunteers like Fiona and our own Ashlea McIver who gave up four years to pay her own way to look after the children.
The winner of the raffle was Noela Collins.
Some generous people are still giving donations which are gratefully received. Ring Valerie on 0419 825 297 or Mary on 4661 3241 if you wish to support Deborah.
We thanks each and every supporter for your great caring. What a wonderful place we live in.

Valerie Rose and Mary Johnston
