Rules for caravans

Recently my husband and I returned from a two-week holiday interstate. We towed a camper trailer.
At a guess, I would say that a large percentage of those towing caravans did not have tow mirrors affixed to their vehicles. If a trucker were to travel without said mirrors he would be called all sorts of not nice names; so if you wish to tow a caravan, have towing mirrors fitted to your vehicle.
On at least three occasions my husband was in a position to overtake a vehicle towing a van on single and dual carriageways, and the tow vehicle would change lanes and cut us off.
I think it should be mandatory that, if you tow a caravan, irrespective of its size, you have tow mirrors; a Do Not Overtake Turning Vehicle sign; and If You Can’t See My Mirrors, I Can’t See You sign. If truck drivers are required, by law, to have these signs because of their size, so should caravan and mobile homes.
