Q&A with Noo Shepherd

Come along for a look inside the life of Noo Shepherd, campus manager at Churches of Christ Warwick and see how she brings joy to the community.

What’s something people may not know about you?

People may not know that I enjoy a pretty quiet personal life with my family and my small circle because I’m such an extroverted person in my professional life.

How do you like to spend your free time?

I enjoy adventures exploring new places in the city and the country with my family. My biggest hobby is sleeping.

What are you most grateful for?

I’m grateful for my family. Their love, support & encouragement have helped me to get where I am today.

What is a message you would like to tell your younger self?

I would probably tell my younger self not to let the fear of failure or rejection stop you from trying. Also to slow down. Time passes by so quickly so take the time to enjoy it.

Who is an inspiration to you?

The people who inspire me the most aren’t those that society deems as successful or rich… They’re the quiet achievers. People who rise by lifting others. Especially the people in my circle who I’m blessed to call my colleagues and friends.

Which six guests, dead or alive, would be invited to your ultimate dinner party?

The first two people I would invite would definitely be my grandparents because I’d love even just one more conversation with them. The other four would be my family members so that they would have the same opportunity.

What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?

My mother and grandfather both told me “Always treat people the way you want to be treated” and I feel that’s been great advice.

What are you most passionate about?

I’m passionate about community and creating ways to connect people. Whether it’s through an intergenerational program or an event or activity, bringing people together and witnessing the enhancement of their lives brings me great joy.

What is your favourite part of your job?

The best part of my job is being afforded the opportunity to express my creative side freely and using this to welcome people to the Churches of Christ campus community.

What is your biggest achievement?

My biggest achievement in life will never be awards, certificates or money. It will be the children that I’ve raised.
