Applications for community grants close Friday

Round 2 of Council’s General Grants program closes for applications this Friday, February 15.

TheGeneral Grants Program focuses on supporting local initiatives, local organisations, and projects that enhance community wellbeing and opportunity.

Eligible community organisations are encouraged to apply for assistance for proposed activities or projects in Round 2.

The General Grants Program offers assistance under the following categories:

Monetary Donation, Sponsorship up to $ 150

Monetary Donation, Capital Project up to $ 500

Fee Relief, Certain Council Statutory Fees up to $1000. Fee Relief, Council Disposal fees for garbageproduced at an event conducted by a Community Group up to $ 500

Application forms are available from Council offices and libraries, or by telephoning Council in Warwick (4661 0300) or Stanthorpe (4681 5500). The application form, along with information about the General Grants Program, including eligibility and conditions, is also available at www.southerndowns.qld.gov.au. Go to ‘About Council’ and click on ‘Grants and Funding’.

Applications must be received before close of business on Friday, 15 February 2013 and may be lodged in person at Council offices, or posted to the Chief Executive Officer, Southern Downs Regional Council, PO Box 26, Warwick.

Faxed, emailed or incomplete applications will not be accepted, and applications submitted or postmarked after the closing date may not be considered.
