Grants for good ideas

A funding pool of $50k is now available through the Southern Downs Regional Council’s 2022/23 Community Grants Program.

A funding pool of $50k is now available through the Southern Downs Regional Council’s 2022/23 Community Grants Program to help community and not-for-profit organisations realise worthwhile projects.

Local groups are invited to apply for up to $2k per applicant to fund initiatives and activities that build community capacity, spirit and resilience.

Southern Downs Councillor Sheryl Windle said the program gives community groups a helping hand to bring beneficial initiatives to life.

“Community organisations are the lifeblood of the region and play an integral role in fostering community connection and enriching our region through their activities,” Councillor Windle said.

“Many wonderful projects that have benefited our entire region would never have come to fruition without assistance from Council’s Community Grants Program.

“With funding through the program, Council can support and partner with community groups to help deliver initiatives that promote community spirit and enhance liveability on the Southern Downs.

“Our proud region has strong community spirit and I encourage any organisation with a passion for a community project to review the guidelines and apply for a grant through this program.”

The application period closes on Friday 30 June 2023, however, the program may close sooner if all program funding has been fully allocated.

All projects or activities funded through the Community Grant Program must be completed between 5 August 2022 and 31 July 2023.

Application forms and program guidelines are available on Council’s website at Grants to Community – Southern Downs Regional Council (sdrc.qld.gov.au). Applications need to be submitted online via SmartyGrants.
