Builders last week started gutting the interior of the Yangan Pub which is tipped to re-open in July.

The new owners are keeping their cards close to their chest despite several requests for interviews.

Warwick Today dropped into the pub last week and spoke to one of the builders who advised: “I am not allowed to talk to the media.”

He said the entire interior of the pub was being ripped out for refurbishment with the pub set to re-open in July.

He said the motel accommodation at the rear of the pub was not part of the project.

The new owners, businessmen with several hotels in Brisbane, were looking forward to being part of the community but did not want to talk to the media.

We have left numerous messages to the new owners who are yet to return our calls.

The pub has been closed now for nearly two years.

In its heyday, it was the focal point for the community to get together.

The promise of a refurbished, attractive venue selling quality meals will be a dream come true for the people of the Yangan area.
