Sweet Lilly homeless

Lilly is looking for a home.

Looking for a loyal and loving companion dog?

Then please meet Lilly, a highly affectionate, clever and confident Black Mouth Cur – Ark’s Animal of the Week.

She’s bigger than a standard Black Mouth Cur, so we’re guessing she’s probably mixed with Mastiff. She was born in October 2021 and weighs about 32 kgs.

Black Mouth Curs originated in the US. Dependable and hardy, they were used by pioneers to herd cattle and guard property. They’ve been introduced to Australia fairly recently, so if you haven’t heard of them before, that’s why.

Lilly quickly settled into her new foster home and has shown that she loves people, is great with kids, and gets on well with other dogs. She has no interest in the next neighbour’s chickens and she’s cat-tolerant.

She has great recall and the biggest smile you can imagine.

The ideal home for Lilly is with an experienced dog-lover who can provide her with the leadership and guidance that a dog of her strength and size needs and who is home most of the time.

Lilly would be fine as an “only dog“ or as one of many. Being an athletic girl, she needs a home with high and secure fencing.

For those interested in meeting this intelligent and affectionate youngster and can offer her a suitable, safe and loving forever home, Please complete the on-line adoption at southerndownsark.com.au/apply-to-adopt/ and one of our volunteers will be in touch.

Lilly’s adoption fee is $450. She is desexed, vaccinated and microchipped.
