As Easter weekend approaches, Glenelg Station is gearing up for its third annual muster, promising two days of country fun and fundraising for a worthy cause.

Hosted by Mark Abra and Amanda Shepherd, the event offers a unique blend of outdoor activities, entertainment, and charitable endeavours. This year, for the first time, attendees have the opportunity to explore the station’s landscape on foot, inspired by the hosts’ fascination with hiking culture observed during their travels in the UK.

“I think it’s a great way for people who aren’t horse riders to still enjoy the countryside, the walk, and the weekend,“ Mark shared.

While the weekend promises plenty of fun, it also serves a charitable purpose, with proceeds going towards RACQ LifeFlight. Mark explained that the charity holds personal significance as RACQ LifeFlight airlifted his wife following a horse riding accident.

“We thought it’s a matter of giving back and supporting the great work they do as they supported us,“ Mark said.

The festivities kick off on Friday 29 morning with a trail ride or walk of approximately 15 kilometres, accompanied by traditional morning tea and a barbecue lunch. The afternoon will feature a variety of entertainment, including sheep shearing, whip cracking, and dog trials.

Saturday’s 30 activities include the cattle muster and further fundraising efforts, including raffles, charity auctions, and entertainment from country music legend James Blundell.

With its mix of outdoor adventure, live entertainment, and charitable initiatives, the Glenelg Station Muster promises a memorable weekend for families and outdoor enthusiasts alike.
