Teen charged with assault

An 18-year-old man will face court charged with assault for his alleged involvement in a fight which broke out in Rose City Shoppingworld last Friday, 12 April. Police alleged a male victim had hit his head on the ground as a result of the fight and was later transported by paramedics to Warwick Hospital.

Motorist hospitalised

A motorist was taken to hospital after reportedly crashing into a fence just off Freestone Road last Thursday afternoon, 11 April. Police said the driver lost control of his vehicle while driving on Freestone Road before he slid off road and hit a fence on Ryans Road at about 3pm. Paramedics later transported the man to Warwick Hospital.

Unwelcome visitors

Police have launched investigations after a man returned to his home on Albert Street in Warwick last Thursday, 11 April, only to find a number of people reportedly “sitting in his house”. According to police, the man told them to leave, which they did, before contacting police.

Stolen vehicle

Police have located a ute they said had been stolen by offenders who entered a Pratten Street residence, took the keys and drove off while residents were inside the home. Police located the vehicle undamaged in Glennie Heights two days after the incident which occurred sometime during the morning of 8 April.

Report of stolen chainsaws

A number of chainsaws were reportedly stolen from a shed on Wood Street in Warwick at some time over the last 18 months, police have said. Police are understood to have been alerted to the theft last Wednesday, 10 April.

Man resists arrest

A Warwick man whose best efforts to allegedly resist arrest were thwarted by police at his front doorstep last Tuesday will face court charged with that and two other offences. Police claimed a struggle had occurred with officers when they attempted to arrest the man, aged 33, at an address on Horsman Road on 9 April. The man will appear in Warwick Magistrates Court charged with obstructing police, public nuisance and driving offences.

Drink driving

A 30-year-old Warwick man will face court charged with drink driving after allegedly blowing almost twice the legal limit at a roadside breath test on Yangan Road just before midnight on Friday night.
