New board for Warwick basketball

The Southern Downs Basketball Championship returns to WIRAC on Thursday after the school holiday break.

The competition has returned with a new board in place for the year, voted for during the break.

Warwick Basketball Board is Chairman Nic Quinn, vice chairman Pop Dickerson, secretary Caitlin Free and treasurer Andrew Gardiner

A new rule has also been instituted with teams now asked to nominate a player to complete Scorebench before or after their game each week.

Round eight tonight, 18 April will see 6pm court one: Hogs Stars taking on Wickhams, 6pm court two: Panthers play dream team; 7pm Court one: Wazza Whales play RPC, 7pm Court two: Has Beens take on Sunday Sessh while Giddy Gang have the bye. There no games next week as Anzac Day falls on a Thursday.

Meanwhile the Big Q monthly carnival will be held on 28 April at the Glennie school, 51 Vacy Street, play two games per carnival.

The carnival involves teams from Under 10s to Open Men.

Tentative game times: Under 10s games, 9am, 11am; Under12s 9 and 11am; U14s and U16 10am, 12pm; U19s, Open mens: 12pm and 2pm; more pen men games 1pm and 3pm.
