Over 100 people raise funds for Crime Stoppers

About $5000 was raised to help deter crime in Warwick when 118 residents teed off in the annual Crime Stoppers Golf Day recently.
Warwick Crime Stoppers Committee member Mick McEniery said the funds raised from the event would help the local committee put signage around the city promoting Crime Stoppers as a way for residents to report crime anonymously.
Mr McEniery said there was a misconception in the Rose City that Crime Stoppers
only dealt with drug-related crime.
“If people are aware of any crime at all, they can call Crime Stoppers,” he said. “It’s a way people can supply information to police anonymously. A lot of people don’t want to give their names.
“I know there are a lot of reports (to Crime Stoppers) that come from Warwick.”
