It’s a bloke thing

By JONATHON HOWARD

MEN usually avoid talking about their health adding the excuse, “it’s a bloke thing” to fend off health-related questions.
That’s why the new “it’s a bloke thing” men’s health roadshow will be visiting Warwick and Stanthorpe on 13 and 14 of August.
The Toowoomba Hospital Foundation and Darling Downs South West Queensland (DDSWQ) Medicare Local have joined forces to help men take control of their health, no matter what their ages – or excuses.
Men from across the Warwick and Stanthorpe region are being invited to bring their mates, dads, brothers, and sons to a free information session on the top health issues facing men today. These include cardiovascular disease, cancer – in particular prostate cancer, diabetes, smoking, and mental health.
Former rugby league star and personality, Nathan Blacklock, will visit as part of the tour with a free beer and barbecue on offer.
A donation of $40,000 to the Toowoomba Hospital Foundation from the “It’s a Bloke Thing” Prostate Luncheon committee of John Wagner (Wagners), Mark Crampton (Crampton Automotives), Gary Gardner (FKG), and John Fitzgibbons (Fitzy’s on Church) has made the roadshow possible, with the IBT group committing to ongoing funding from their annual luncheon.
