The Stanthorpe Gremlins were celebrating on Saturday after the Under 17 Girls League Tag won the grand final. It was another tough game against a formidable Goondiwindi side. The Stanthorpe girls played extremely well to win the game 8-4. The final score line however does not reflect the closeness of this game.

The grand final win caps off a stellar season for the girls who earlier in the season won the President’s Cup.

The girls secured the first grand final win by any Junior Gremlins side since 1996.

The Under 15 girls played Tenterfield in what developed into an epic battle. The score was all tied up at full time sending the game into extra time – 10 minutes each way.

In the second half of extra time Tenterfield secured the winning points. The final score 30-22. It developed into an amazing game and the Gremlins supporters should be proud of the efforts of this group of girls who have played bravely all season with just one reserve.

Congratulations to their coach Roger O’Brien, Bonita and the support staff who have done an amazing job all season with both the Under 17 and Under 15 sides.
