Maryvale bounce back

By Casey OÇonnor

Maryvale have bounced back from a slow start to win their round three Warwick Cricket Association Condamine Cup competition against Allora at the weekend.

Some clubs seem to be taking some time to find their feet (and their players) this season and on Saturday Vic Hill forfeited their game against Warwick Redbacks.

Maryvale played Allora at headquarters, Slade Oval on Saturday. After a shaky start to the season Maryvale scored a good win over Allora. Batting first Maryvale set Allora a run chase of 186 off their 40 overs. Maryvale lost only four wickets on their way to the total.

Allora were never in the game and were dismissed for 70 in just the 19th over.

Sunday’s game between Sovereign Animals and Wheatvale was also played at Slade Oval. Wheatvale won by one run with wickets in hand.

Sovereign were all out for 98 in just the 23rd over. In reply Wheatvale reeled in the required runs in 17.4 overs for the loss of six wickets.

In other games at the weekend: Saturday: Maryvale 4/186 (Andrew Ryan 51, Mick Bourke 77, Alex Strike 1/21, Will Ole 1/22), defeated Allora 70. (Tim Kajewski 34* , Kev Bourke 2/14, Lachlan Stace 2/0)

Sunday: Sovereign all out 98 (Mitch Hay 35, V Pal 5/28) defeated by Wheatvale 6/99, Riley Doherty 20, Hayden Doherty 20, M Powell 3/12

Colts had the weekend bye.

This weekend in Saturday games Redbacks host Maryvale and Allora take on Wheatvale. On Sunday Colts will be back in action when they play Sovereign Animals at Slade Oval.
