Walk against drugs

Walk against drugs: Johno Felton urges community action during walk against drugs this Sunday at Queens Park.

WARWICK icon and suicide prevention campaigner, Johno Felton, wants residents to band together and walk or run against drugs and substance abuse this Sunday, 15 September.
Mr Felton is the Warwick Suicide Prevention Group director and the group is hosting the five-kilometre fun run or walk to raise funds and support for safer and drug-free communities.
The event will take place in Queens Park near the skate park from 9.30am.
As well as live entertainment, the day will feature a variety of young and established artists.
Mr Felton said enough was enough.
“Drugs are tearing our communities apart,” he said.
“There needs to be widespread drug education plans started to ensure children understand the dangers – which is something that simply doesn’t exist in schools today.
“I’m asking for people to join us in our run against drugs and creating more awareness for the widespread issue.”
Anyone wanting to get involved can register from 8am for a cost of $5 for adults and a gold coin donation from children under 12.
