THE latest Stanthorpe Art Gallery manager has announced her shock resignation from the role – less than six months since she took up the post.
Kathleen Davies had brought a wealth of experience and knowledge of the art world to Stanthorpe in April this year.
As well as embracing country life, Ms Davies undertook a number of regional courses to embed herself in the town and had been driving promotions for the gallery.
Stanthorpe Art Gallery Society Inc board president, Mike Roselt, said Kathleen had decided to move on for personal reasons and finished up at the gallery on Friday, 13 September.
“Kathleen had been at the Gallery for only a relatively short time and in that time has made a significant difference in the visibility of the Gallery within the community,” he said. “She had also encouraged our volunteers to be actively involved in the gallery.
“Kathleen will be missed by everyone who has made her acquaintance and on behalf of the Committee and the Society I wish Kathleen every success in her future ventures.”
Mr Roselt said an announcement regarding a new Gallery Manager will be made by the committee in due course.
