Stanthorpe police briefs

STANTHORPE Police have again reminded residents to secure their property, both vehicles and houses, after yet another theft from an unsecured vehicle.
A mobile phone and a quantity of money were stolen from the unlocked vehicle parked in Symes Street, Stanthorpe early on 8 October.
The vast majority of thieves are opportunistic and will rarely go to the extreme of forcing entry to vehicles due to the attention it creates.
There were two further stealing offences reported during the week. A blue coloured Huffy brand bicycle and grey helmet were stolen from the corner of Folkestone and Matthew Street sometime on 8 October.
A Honda motor and pump were stolen from a property on Amiens Road sometime on the evening of October 7. Anyone who may have any information regarding the thefts is requested to contact police.

MINOR injuries were sustained by both the driver and passenger of a Holden sedan at about 9.30pm last Thursday when their vehicle, which had been travelling southbound on the New England Highway at Glen Aplin, struck a cow on the road. The vehicle involved sustained considerable damage and was towed from the scene.

AT AROUND 3.30am on Sunday morning, police were called to a motel in Maryland Street as a result of wilful damage that had been caused by a group of youths.
Three youths aged between 16 and 17 years were charged with committing a public nuisance offence.
One further offender, 15, will be charged with public nuisance and also serious assault after he spat at one of the investigating officers.
