Nip Bullying in the bud

BULLYING has no place in schools, and there is a way that students can make a stand against schoolyard violence and bullying.
The fourth annual National Day of Action against Bullying and Violence will be held in March 2014 and schools are being encouraged to join in.
More than 644,000 students – almost 20 per cent of the student population – took part this year, with Queensland schools leading the way, said Education Minister John-Paul Langbroek.
“It’s a chance for schools to promote their own programs and approaches to address bullying and it’s a time for students to unite to send a clear message that bullying and violence at school is not okay at any time.
“It takes a lot of courage and strength to stand up to bullies and I invite all Queensland schools to join in and do what they can to create safe and supportive learning environments for our students.”
Mr Langbroek said registering online to become part of the national conversation was the first step.
“I encourage schools to register for the 2014 National Day of Action on Friday, 21 March by going to www.bullyingnoway.gov.au from today.”
