THE Warwick CBD will be enveloped in Christmas cheer on coming Saturdays.
Palmerin Street will take on a jolly atmosphere as part of the “write Warwick on your wish list” shopping campaign.
“We are aiming to bring the Palmerin Street shopping precinct to life,” Warwick Tourism and Events CEO Tracy Vellacott said.
The city’s Town Hall will be centre stage on Saturday 30 November and Saturday 7 December from 10am until 1pm with performers bringing their best Christmas music to share.
Local songbirds include Emma Bell, Ebony Wickham, Libby Brown, and Jodie Ellis with additional performances by renowned Jondaryan Woolshed performer Terry Arnold, who now calls Warwick home and the Warwick Choral Society and East Street Singers.
“It is wonderful to see the depth of talent we have in this community and that performers are willing to give up their time and share their vocal gift and Christmas favourites with shoppers,” Mrs Vellacott said.
She urged shoppers to keep their eyes peeled for some quirky roving Christmas characters, who will be only too willing to help carry the parcels to the car.
“We’re looking forward to the fun of having a crazy elf, a reindeer, a Christmas tree and the Grinch dropping in to liven up the CBD and get up to festive mischief with shoppers,” Mrs Vellacott said.
“The always-groovy Memphis Moovers will also pound the Palmerin Street pavement and ignite some Christmas spirit with their zany costumes and liquorice allsort of music.”
