QUAD bike enthusiasts are being urged to take care after three riders, including one from the local area, were airlifted to hospital in the space of a week.
Toowoomba’s rescue helicopter was dispatched to a property near Tregony, north-east of Warwick at about 12.15pm on Sunday, following reports a woman in her thirties had taken a fall.
RACQ CareFlight’s intensive care paramedics treated the woman for a suspected spinal injury before airlifting her to Toowoomba Base Hospital in a stable condition.
Meanwhile on Saturday, the Toowoomba crew was kept busy again airlifting a child from Beaudesert after she came off a quad bike and fell approximately one metre to the ground.
The girl was taken to hospital with suspected head, spinal and abdominal injuries.
Earlier in the week the Bundaberg-based helicopter was called to a property near Biggenden where a man in his thirties sustained a suspected head injury and chest pain after falling off a quad bike.
