THE Stanthorpe Showgrounds are set to be transformed into a showcase or antiques and collectables from Friday to Sunday, 27-29 March.
From 5pm on 27 March Exhibition Centre at the Showgrounds will host dealers from all around the country who will combine for what is planned to be the Annual Stanthorpe Antiques and Collectables Fair.
Organised by antiques and collectables dealers Bronwyn and Keith Stringer, this event will be a great drawcard for collectors both serious and novice alike.
Traditionally the aim of a fair is to cater for all tastes and incomes, from the smallest thimble or piece of collectable pottery to a grand Victorian chest.
Prices are competitive and the range of items for sale is fantastic, enabling customers to view many dealers under one roof, instead of travelling to 20 or more different establishments.
Georgian and Victorian jewellery, English and European porcelain, silver, glass, linen, lamps, collectables and furniture, Persian rugs, both rustic and traditional will be displayed with great care and pride, the dealers themselves endeavouring to supply as much information as possible to help the collector or budding collector.
An additional feature of this year’s event will be the inclusion of vintage fashion and accessories such as hats, shoes and handbags.
The Stanthorpe Antiques and Collectables Fair will also assist Stanthorpe Primary School by having representatives of the school on site for a school fundraiser.
In addition a donation has already been made to the Applethorpe Primary School which assisted the event organisers by placing a large banner on the school fence.
The fair will open on the Friday night, the 27 March, and begins at 5pm with wine tasting and nibbles available.
Tickets for the opening night are available at the door on the night as well as weekend passes.
The Stanthorpe Antiques and Collectables Fair is open again from 9am until 5pm on Saturday 28 March and from 9am until 3pm on Sunday 29 March.
On the Saturday and Sunday the Agricultural Society will be running a barbecue, other light snacks, tea and coffee and cold drinks.
Admission per day is $8 for adults or visitors can choose to buy a weekend pass for just $10. Accompanied children under 14 are free.
There is a lucky door prize entry which will be drawn on the Sunday at 1pm.
The Exhibition Centre is located at the Stanthorpe Showgrounds in High Street, Stanthorpe.
There is plenty of parking available onsite and nearby and wheelchair access into the hall is available.
