INTENDING council candidates for Tenterfield Council have a chance to take part in a unique online information session via the NSW Electoral Commission’s website.
The NSW Electoral Commission is responsible for running the Tenterfield Council elections and referendum and the online information can be accessed via their website www.votensw.info (with a link available on the council’s website www.tenterfield.nsw.gov.au).
Council General Manager Damien Connor said those interested in becoming a councillor will need to go to the Candidate Helpdesk on 1300 088 942 (9am to 5pm weekdays and during the weekend of the election).
All applications and nomination forms are available from the www.votensw.info.website and potential councillors should note nomination forms can only be lodged with the returning officer between Monday 1 August and noon Wednesday 10 August.
Election for all 10 councillors (two for each of the five wards) will be held on Saturday 10 September.
