Boost for business

LOCAL businesses can find out all about some generous employment incentives being offered by the State Government at an information evening this Wednesday 23 November.
Warwick accountant Shannon Aspinall is convening the evening as a means of helping boost business activity and confidence in the region.
Head along to the Rodeo Heritage Centre at 5.30pm on Wednesday to find out more about the State Government’s Youth Boost and Back to Work incentive programs which are currently available.
The public information session will presented by Marc Morain from the Department of State Development.
Youth Boost, the biggest incentive, is only available for 15-24 year olds hired from 1 December 2016 to 28 February 2017, up to $20,000. School leavers will be eligible and conditions apply.
Back to Work incentives range from $10,000 to $15,000 and aren’t limited by age or the date hired. Back To Work runs for the next two years or until the funding runs out. The incentives started 1 July this year so if you have hired someone eligible already, you have three months from hiring to apply. Apprentices can be eligible and other conditions apply.
Part-time employment is eligible but Back To Work incentives will be 75 per cent of the full-time rates. To be eligible the employee must work a minimum on 20 hours per week or eight hours per week for employees with a disability.
Business owners need to check the applicable awards. More information is available at www.backtowork.initiatives.qld.gov.au
The information evening on Wednesday, at the Rodeo Heritage Centre, Warwick, will begin at 5.30pm for a 5.45pm start. Tea, coffee and light refreshments supplied. RSVP to shannon@aspinalls.com.au
