Forget “Australia’s Got Talent” … Warwick needs you!

Organisers of Warwick’s upcoming birthday celebrations are seeking talented entertainers who would like to be part of the 150th Party in the Park, to be held in Leslie Park on Sunday, May 29.
Warwick Tourism & Events CEO Tracy Vellacott said that the finale event promises to be huge, with a varied program of free entertainment, markets, community information and heritage displays.
“The 150th Party in the Park is a great chance for performers to take to the stage in front of a large audience and increase their local exposure,” Mrs Vellacott said.
“Community events are a terrific place for entertainers to hone their performance skills and embrace opportunities to perform, even if they are volunteer gigs like a big birthday party.”
Mrs Vellacott is confident that there is a mass of talent, young and old, experienced and inexperienced, just waiting to be tapped.
“In the past I have been incredibly lucky to work with pro musicians and performers, as well as up and coming talent at events like Australia Day and Carols in the Park but I look forward to expanding my database of entertainers to cover all the events I am now involved in with my new role.
“We definitely have loads of young talent in the community waiting for their big break or album launch, but I’d remind them that every chance to perform takes you closer to being ready for the industry when that big break comes.
“There are also some very experienced performers who do what they do for the sheer pleasure it brings them and I want to hear from them as well,” Mrs Vellacott said.
Performers, dancers, jugglers, fire twirlers, she will take them all.
