ABC live in Stanthorpe

Have you ever wondered about the faces behind the voices on ABC Breakfast? Stanthorpe residents had the opportunity to meet the faces behind the microphone last week as David Illiffe and his team broadcast live from the Stanthorpe Information Centre.
Quite a crowd took advantage of the mild morning to ring in the first day of winter and meet the crew.
The Rotary Club of Stanthorpe was on hand to provide sausages or a bacon and egg muffin, with proceeds going to the Salzke appeal for a bed for the Palliative Care Unit at Stanthorpe Hospital.
Members of Rotary and Lions also got into the spirit of the morning, hosting the Great Mulled Wine Challenge for the second year. The weight of public opinion declared Rotarian Perditta O’Connor the winner for the second year, however, there was some strong opposition.
ABC broadcasters David Iliffe and Arlie Douglas spoke to a cross section of the public
about the impact of the flooding earlier in the year and the ongoing recovery operations, while producer Claudia Godfrey kept an eye on proceedings.
The ABC team said they enjoyed their morning in Stanthorpe and hope to be back to do it all again sometime in the future.
