Red Cross puts out call for volunteers and blankets

Warwick’s Australian Red Cross Shop is in desperate need of blankets and volunteers to continue the smooth operation of the store.
Team leader Heather Berry said donations of blankets and winter clothing could be dropped off to the Grafton Street store or put into one of their collection bins at the front of the shop.
“People are coming in here every day for blankets and we don’t have any,” Ms Berry said.
She said they also needed volunteers to work at the shop, particularly on a Friday and Saturday.
“A lot of us are doubling up to cover the shifts. It is a big commitment to make.”
Volunteers have a range of tasks that they could do in a jovial environment including customer service, unpacking and sorting donations, and ironing clothes.
The shop is open from 9am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday and from 9am to 1pm on Saturday and any time during these hours that residents could volunteer would be greatly appreciated.
If you’re interested in volunteering just drop into the shop and pick up a volunteers pack or call them on (07) 4661 9916.
