Warwick Safe Haven opening its doors

QCWA Mt Colliery continuously support Safe Haven.

Warwick Safe Haven Inc, a community-funded volunteer committee committed to recovery, prevention, and education around Domestic and Family Violence, announces its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at 6:30 pm. The event will take place at Warwick Baptist Church Hall on Guy St, with doors opening at 6:00 pm.

The AGM offers an opportunity for the community to hear the latest updates from key Domestic Violence support centres, as well as the Queensland Police Service, focusing on the Southern Downs and Granite Belt regions.

Warwick Safe Haven Inc, passionate about its mission, will share the continued work accomplished over the past 12 months and outline new initiatives planned for 2024.

The committee encourages community members to consider getting involved by attending the AGM. Nominations are open for the positions of treasurer and committee members. Meetings are currently held once a month via Zoom, with a willingness to adapt to the preferences of new committee members.

Tea, coffee, and light supper will be available. For further information and to RSVP by COB Monday, November 20, 2023, contact Warwick Safe Haven Inc at safehavenwarwick@gmail.com or via phone/text at 0429 432 510.

The organisation invites individuals to become wider members of the Safe Haven Inc Association, expressing commitment to supporting recovery and prevention of domestic and family violence in the Southern Downs region.

Membership benefits include the right to vote at the AGM and active involvement in the organisation’s initiatives.

The membership process involves a $20 fee, with a subsequent annual renewal fee of $5. Prospective members need two committee members to nominate them, and approval allows them to vote at the AGM. Those interested in membership are encouraged to express their interest by email to safehavenwarwick@gmail.com by COB 17 November.
