The Stanthorpe Golf Club Championships were completed last weekend, with play on both Saturday and Sunday to complete the 72-hole event. Congratulations to the winners as well as all players who stayed the distance and completed all four rounds. It is great to see that new names will be added to the championship cups in all grades.
Club and A Grade champion is David Reeves who scored 307 over the four rounds. Brendan Barker was very impressive taking out the B Grade championship and in C Grade, Keith Barnett ran away with the shield. Bob Watts held on long enough to collect the Veterans’ division.
Best nett for all divisions over four rounds went to Aaron Simmers. Richard Reardon took the A Grade nett event, Stan Spencer won the B Grade nett and Geoff Patti claimed the C Grade nett.
In the day’s competition, Matt Waterworth claimed his first club win after gaining his AGU handicap with a nett 68. Runner-up on nett 70 was Aaron Simmers. Thanks to Geoff Patti for sponsoring the day and providing the prizes for the winners.
Next Saturday is a 4BBB stableford and will be a shot gun start. Registration is 11.30am and tee off at 11.45am. Sponsors for the day are the Webb boys, Tony from Webb Concreting and Glenn from Webb Plumbing. Time sheet is on the board so get your teams written up.
