Grand event draws cash

THE State Government has provided $10,000 towards the 2014 Queensland International Three-Day Event in Warwick.
To be held from 28 to 31 August, it is the marquee event on the Equestrian Queensland Eventing calendar.
Eventing is an Olympic sport and is sometimes referred to as the triathlon of equestrian competition.
The same horse and rider combination is required to compete in dressage, a cross country jumping course and showjumping on three consecutive days.
The combination with the lowest penalty points accumulated over the three days wins.
The event is held at Morgan Park annually in August and attracts Australia’s best riders.
