Future bleak for country music club

If Slade Campus is sold, the future of the Warwick and District Country Music Club could be in doubt.
With the Southern Downs Regional Council’s expressions of interest for the purchase of Slade Campus closing next month, the club is fast running out of time to secure their future.
President Ron Farrell said the almost 200 members raised much-needed funds for the community during their events.
This would cease if the club was forced to fold.
“We have nowhere to go if it’s sold. There’s not another hall in Warwick that’s affordable and big enough to store our gear,” Mr Farrell said.
“We’ve been going for 30 years,” he said.
“We spent $3000 renting here last year and donated about $11,000 to charity in 2010.”
He said they would not be the only club affected by the sale of Slade Campus, as about 12 groups utilise the facility.
