SOUTHERN Downs Regional Councillors have been allocated portfolios as part of an overall streamlining of Council’s business functions.
Mayor Peter Blundell said as community members had observed, the council had taken time to deliberate over the idea of portfolios and the allocation of specific portfolios to councillors.
“As Mayor I will look after Economic Development and Emergency Management,” he said.
“The Deputy Mayor Cr Ross Bartley will be responsible for Infrastructure.”
The portfolios for other councillors are:
- Cr Cameron Gow – Agriculture and environmental management,
- Cr Denise Ingram – Community Services,
- Cr Neil Meiklejohn – Planning and Environment,
- Cr Glyn Rees – Sports, Parks and Cemeteries,
- Cr Vic Pennisi – Commerce and Industry,
- Cr Jamie Mackenzie – Area promotion,
- Cr Jo McNally – Finance and Governance.
“I’m pleased the new structure is now implemented and look forward to seeing great results from the various portfolios,” Mayor Blundell said.
